Karensrug

Karen finished her rug and you can view it hanging in the classroom.

The design is from Elizabeth Bradley and she stitched it in her distinctive Victorian cross-stitch with Appleton wool.  The squares were done one at a time – so it really is a fairly portable project.  Then Karen stitched the edges together when she did the borders between the squares.  It's a really efficient technique and a great example of how to break up these really large projects into smaller chunks.

This is a wonderful piece – take a close-up look and talk to Karen if you too want to stitch up this heirloom.
