Karen knit this cute dress for Gigi from the Swans Island pattern, Schooner Dress. She made the sleeves a bit longer instead of adding pockets, which meant she only needed one skein of each color — and had leftovers (pictured below).
The pattern has instructions ranging between ages 2–10. The gauge calls for sport weight, which means you could use cotton if you’re concerned about sensitive skin (though it’s worth noting that the Swans Island organic yarn didn’t irritate Gigi’s eczema).
Note that she’s wearing the Clara dress!
The mobile flowers and idea is from Itty Bitty Nursery, and the fairies are from Topsy Turvy Knits both by Susan B. Anderson.
Little baby Evangeline Cora arrived on Thursday evening weighing in at 7 lbs. 15 oz and 20 1/2″ in length. Everyone is doing well and she is small enough to fit into all the knit things that Matthew was too big for! She is a dear sweet one!
Baby Gigi will be here soon – probably this week, so hats and bootees are ready in various sizes. I can’t wait to see you in them, sweet girl!
